Type: Commercial
Location: NY Life – Drake’s Landing Community Space Reimagined
What began as an evaluation of a closed restaurant space evolved into a broader reimagining of the Drake’s Landing master plan. Following the restaurant’s closure during the pandemic, close collaboration with the Larkspur Planning Department led to a new vision—blending retail, community, and tenant amenity spaces.
The design proposes a convenience center adjoining a flexible seating and meeting area. Bi-folding doors allow the space to transition for private tenant or public community use. Vibrant colors and adaptable furniture create welcoming zones, while playful tile motifs reinforce inclusivity. Lush greenery offers privacy and connects users to the nearby waterway and views of Mt. Tamalpais.
Renovated courtyards extend the functionality outdoors, with bi-folding doors linking interior spaces to fresh-air meeting areas, enabling year-round gatherings in a dynamic, connected environment.
